In an effort to support admissions recruitment efforts for the students within my school, I will see and provide protected student personal data. I understand that I may be responsible for forwarding official and final transcripts for students within my school, and that such transcripts become property of the College of Charleston. Student data that I provide to the College for those students who are not dual enrolled at the College, is covered by my school’s FERPA policy, which I understand and shall comply with in full. Data for those students that I receive from the College is covered under the College’s Privacy Notice and Policies (https://cofc.edu/policies/privacypolicy/). In certain circumstances, some student data that I will provide to and receive from the College for certain dual enrolled students is covered under the FERPA (https://registrar.cofc.edu/ferpa/index.php) guidelines of the College. In other cases for certain dual enrolled students, my school’s FERPA policy applies. For students under the age of 18, I understand that parents have FERPA rights under my high school’s policy. I attest that I understand and will comply with the appropriate FERPA policies as applicable on a case-by-case basis.
Data provided to me by the College is the property of the College and shall be treated as confidential. Such data is being shared only with me for my purposes in assisting my students with admissions requirements. I shall protect this information by keeping it in a secure location and not providing access to anyone other than the student whose data I hold. I will not share or distribute that data without the prior permission of the College and/or the student. College data shall not be sold or used, internally or externally, for any purpose not directly related to the defined purpose for receiving such data. I also shall protect College data from unauthorized physical and electronic access and will not share my system credentials with any other user.
